Why Me?- Part One

You’ve probably gone through that moment when you’re certain you’re going to win, or that you’re going to get that position, or that role, and then you don’t. You just don’t. And then you go through this stage where you’re just asking, “Why? Why didn’t I get that? What did I do wrong?” or “What did I do to deserve that?”

Well, brothers and sisters, let me tell you something. God has a plan, and He knows everything. Yes, I’m sure your parents or your pastor has told you that so many times it makes your head spin. But bear with me one more time.
Suppose you knew everything. Everything that was ever gonna happen, who’d you marry, how many kids you’d have, when you’d die.

So, suppose you go to high school and you meet this wonderful guy (or girl) and you’re like, “wow, this is the dude (or gal) for me.” And then you go and date him (or her). And then suppose you never got that super knowledge of everything until you’ve been going with that guy (or girl) for, say, half a year. And the moment you know everything, you realize, “oh no, that isn’t actually the guy (or girl) for me.” Then you would break up with him (or her), wouldn’t you?

Now let’s change the perspective a little bit. God knows everything, not you. So, the next time you’re wondering why you didn’t get that job promotion, or that spot on the team, or even why you had to get sick right then, take a moment to pause and remember that since God knows everything, and that He always, always, always works everything for your good- and yes, I did say your good- you didn’t get that special thing for a purpose.

No, it’s not some wacky fate, and no, it is not an accident. Maybe that wasn’t the perfect job for you. Maybe you got sick right before that trip to Hawaii because God knew the plane was going to crash. Or maybe God is trying to help you learn to trust Him. And trusting God is one of the most important things I’ve had to do in a relationship with Him.

The reason may not always be clear to you. Maybe you’ll discover why you were bullied in school ten years later. But I beg you, just trust Him. Think of it. God is the only true God, the one who made the entire universe, who never makes a mistake, who is always on time, knows everything, loves you soooooo so much, even sent His Son to die for you.

And you can’t trust your future to someone like that?

Tomorrow I'll tell you a true story about me. Love you guys 😁
