Go tell the WORLD

To my brothers and sisters in Christ:

Today I wanted to show you a speech I wrote two years ago.

Although it's long, I feel we all need to be aware that we don't know when Jesus is coming back and to be ready to share the gospel while we still have the chance. May you be blessed by this. Love y'all and I am praying for you. <3

Try to imagine someone who has never had the joy, the hope, the love that you experience in Christ. Try to imagine someone who has never heard God’s name, someone who has never had the chance to believe in Him. There is no light in their hearts. No love. People are dying, not knowing where they are headed. Christians should be evangelizing to non-Christians all around the world because they need to have that chance. They need someone to help them open up that door towards salvation and knowing Jesus.
Today I am going to be talking about why we need to tell others about Jesus. 1) Because the world is full of sin and needs God, 2) Jesus could come back any day and finally, 3) I want others to be able to experience Jesus like I do. I’ll also be talking about how prayer is a powerful tool in telling others about Christ.

Now, imagine living in a perfect world. No death, no sickness, no persecution. The world was like this in the very beginning, when Adam and Eve were created. But when they sinned against God, all those horrible things entered the world. Our perfect habitat became full of sin. Our world today is even more full of sin. We look around this world, and we see sin in the newspaper, TV, internet, and all sorts of other places. Think about the children being abandoned by their parents. If they knew about God, they would realize that every single life is precious. Think about those who are shooting other people. And those victims will not all be Christians, but non-believers shot to their death without a chance to believe. Sin separates families, couples, countries. They need hope. They need love. They need Jesus. But John 1:29 says, “’Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’” We need to start telling the non-believers all about Jesus and his free gift.  The world is desperately in need of God. But it’s not too late for them. Jesus wants to lift those non-believers out of the pit of sin and darkness and into the light. In 1 Timothy 1:15 it says, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.”

But Jesus could come back any day, and we need to be ready. We do not know the date or time in which the Lord is coming back, but we do know this: in Matthew 24:14, it says, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” Christianity needs to be spread to every nation, and then Jesus will come back. We need to spread the word of Christianity so that there isn’t a person in this world who hasn’t had that chance to believe. Do you want to look back at your life and wonder what you did for the kingdom of God? Don’t you want others to be able to share the love that you receive from God too? You never know when you are going to die, just like we don’t know when Jesus will be coming back. But won’t it be amazing when we are in Heaven and there are Christians from every people group, every language, and every country? In Revelation 7:9 it says, “…And there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

But why is it important for others to believe in Jesus? What difference does it make if they’re a Christian or not? As I said before, the world is full of sin and they need the Lord to forgive them so that they can go to Heaven when they die. But I also want others to be able to experience Jesus like I do. I am so thankful that God never leaves us no matter how tough the situation seems; He always forgives us no matter how many sins we commit, and always loves us no matter what we do or say. And I want others to be able to experience that, too. I want them to be able to have that security that I feel in God. He is our strength and our foundation. God helps us get through our days. It’s not all about just going to Heaven and living happily ever after. It’s about living for God and doing what he commands, including telling others about Him. We need to make it our priority to tell others about Him.

And I’m sure you all know at least one person who does not know God. I have many relatives who do not know the Lord, and just the thought of them going to hell is sickening. But that feeling helps me to want to do something about it even more. If you don’t think you can do anything about it, you are wrong. You can pray. Prayer is a powerful thing. Remember, when you pray you are talking to God, and He can do anything. He can melt a heart of stone and turn that person towards Him. Keep praying. Until a couple of years ago, my great-grandmother was not a Christian. We all had prayed for her continuously, and in 2012 we found out that she had been baptized and was now a Christian -- after denying Christ for 95 years! Sadly, my great-grandmother passed away three years ago, but our family is able to have the confidence that we will see her once again in Heaven. If you have trouble remembering to pray, try writing a list of all the non-believers you know and put it somewhere where you will see it. Then pray for at least one of them each day.

And God’s Word is so beautiful and so free that everyone deserves- and needs- to hear it. It’s never too late for someone to become a Christian. It’s never too late for you to start telling others. We can’t let them lie on their death beds, waiting to die without knowing that there is a God out there who loves them, even though they have not loved him. They need to know that there is a free gift just waiting to be opened. And that’s why I’m here. Spread the joy, the forgiveness, the unending love that you experience through Christ. We need to spread the gospel now. Christians should and need to be telling the non-believers about God. We are His messengers, His missionaries. You can do this. In Philippians, the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  You don’t have to go out of the country to be a missionary. Wherever there’s a non-believer, you can evangelize and be a missionary by telling that person about God’s free gift. It may seem hard, but you will be armed with the Holy Spirit and he will help you. You won’t be alone. God will always be with you. The next time you are reading your Bible or praying to God, think about those who don’t believe in the one true God. Think about what you can do about it. Support a missionary with prayer and financial support. Pray for those non-believers that the Lord would open their hearts towards the gospel. But you don’t have to stop there. Keep going. Tell everyone you meet about the unending love of God. People will persecute you and make fun of you, but in God’s eyes you are seen greatly. And if God is for us, who can be against us?

Finally, I want to thank my parents for being missionaries to me. Without them, I might have ended up wandering in my sin forever. But think about the people who don’t have Christian friends, Christian family members to tell them about Jesus. Think about those who don’t know who Jesus is or what being a Christian means. Do you want to let them wander in darkness their whole life? Do you want them to end up in Hell, where God is not? At least pray.

Because like I said, prayer is powerful.
