"But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works."

From Him

The last time I was complimented on a dish I cooked, I remember thinking, "Why are they praising me? I didn't do anything. Someone else came up with the recipe. Someone else picked out the perfect, fresh ingredients. All I did was follow the instructions!"

Ever had that experience? I'm sure many of you have. Often the wrong people are praised for the wrong things. When I was little, I remember my little sister always got the credit for things I had come up with. Originally, I was upset. I remember trying to argue with my parents that I was the one who should be praised. I don't think they ever realized that, but I don't mind and I'm also thankful that they didn't. Because anyway, I know, and God knows, and it's not that big of a deal. And is it me that really should be getting the praise in the first place? No. God gave me that creativity. God should get the glory.
Sometimes it's hard for me to remember to give Him the glory in everything. Being selfish is a human trait, something we all struggle with. I know I am often tempted to keep all the glory for myself, but in reality, without God, I am nothing! He gave me my life, my home, my family, my friends, my talents, my abilities...the list can go on and on! It's aaall from Him!

James 1:17 says, "Every good and perfect gift comes from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights."

That means that everything that is good is from God! When you're praised about something, who should be getting the glory? You? Or the One who gave you everything?

God gave us the talents (ingredients), He helped us to do it and showed us how (recipe) and all we did was follow His instructions! Give God the glory! It's all from Him!

And when you pass on the glory to God, it can open up opportunities to talk about your faith! And don't forget to give some glory to your parents and to those who've helped you, too.

This week, I challenge you to give Him the glory!! All the time and forever, too.

Love you all! And don't forget, guest post week is in two days! Stay posted!
